Policies bundle configuration update into packages that the Senstar Enterprise Manager applies to sites or site folders, and defines user permissions for the Senstar Symphony Server.
Create a policy
You can create a policy to configure settings for sites in the Senstar Enterprise Manager. The process is creating a policy is similar for every type of policy in Senstar Enterprise Manager, but the settings for each type of policy differ.

Senstar Enterprise Manager
The Senstar Enterprise Manager is an SSL secure, Web-based application that manages Senstar Symphony Server farms.
Users
Users in the Senstar Enterprise Manager represent administrator users for devices associated with sites or site folders.
Policies
Policies bundle configuration update into packages that the Senstar Enterprise Manager applies to sites or site folders, and defines user permissions for the Senstar Symphony Server.
- Inheritance
  Sites inherit policies from the top of the site hierarchy down, unless you explicitly override a policy setting at a lower level.
- Create a policy
  You can create a policy to configure settings for sites in the Senstar Enterprise Manager. The process is creating a policy is similar for every type of policy in Senstar Enterprise Manager, but the settings for each type of policy differ.
- Modify a policy
  You can change a policy at any time. To apply the changes that you make to a policy that is assigned to a site, you must publish your changes.
- Senstar Symphony Server farm policies
  Senstar Symphony Server farm policies are policies that you can apply to Senstar Symphony Server instances connected to the Senstar Enterprise Manager.
- Senstar Thin Client policies
  Senstar Thin Client policies are policies that you can apply to Senstar Thin Client devices that are connected to the Senstar Enterprise Manager.
- Senstar Enterprise Manager Bridge policies
  Senstar Enterprise Manager Bridge policies are policies that you can assign to Senstar Enterprise Manager Bridge devices connected to the Senstar Enterprise Manager.
Sites
Sites in the Senstar Enterprise Manager represent Senstar Symphony Server farms or devices.
Reports
The Senstar Enterprise Manager can generate and distribute reports as PDF or Excel files.
Administration
The Administration page includes settings for the Senstar Enterprise Manager and administrator users.

Create a policy

You can create a policy to configure settings for sites in the Senstar Enterprise Manager. The process is creating a policy is similar for every type of policy in Senstar Enterprise Manager, but the settings for each type of policy differ.

In the Senstar Enterprise Manager Web interface, click Policies.
Click New.
Type a name for the policy, select the policy type, and click OK.
To create administrator users for the Senstar Symphony Server, you must use the name Administrators.
Type a description for the policy.
Configure the settings for the policy.
Click Save.
